Background.....

I began my career with the pursuit of a double bachelors degree in both psychology and Bible.  I graduated from Northwestern College in Minnesota in 1990.  After a few years of working in the business world, I decided it was time to pursue my passion in counseling.

I attended Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA where I received a Master's degree in Community Counseling.  I was honored to receive the Outstanding Graduate of the Year award upon graduation in 1995.  Since that time, I have worked in various capacities; each providing a wealth of experience and opportunity.  I have guest lectured at a local university on multiple occasions and presented seminars on attachment.  It has been a learning journey and I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many amazing and wonderful people.

I began working on a part-time basis in a small group practice while still living in Virginia.  After a cross country move to Colorado, I worked in various capacities while building experience and working on licensure.  I worked as a therapist at a residential treatment center with troubled adolescents, at a local psychiatric hospital and at a day treatment center for troubled teens.  I have been licensed since 1999 in the State of Colorado.  I have spent most of my years working in a private practice setting on an outpatient basis, which is the environment I have enjoyed most.

My soul loves working with the broken-hearted, no matter the age.  I come from a Christian world view, and can easily integrate Christian principles in the counseling environment.  I also love working with those of different religious and non-religious backgrounds as well, honoring their beliefs and differences.  Either way, my passion is getting to know the heart of a person and helping them feel safe enough to make the changes they desire.

I enjoy a blessed and abundant life filled with the love of family and friends.  I attend Church on the Ranch in Colorado Springs.   In my free time, I love to travel and see the world and participate in various personal interests.
